In December of last year, actor Shreyas Talpade experienced a severe heart attack. The actor is currently out of the hospital after undergoing an emergency angioplasty at Bellevue Hospital in the Andheri district of Mumbai.
The abrupt decline in Talpade’s health took his admirers and supporters by surprise. The 47-year-old appeared to be in good health.
The actor has talked about his health nearly 20 days after his near-death encounter.
In an interview, he stated to the Bombay Times, “Clinically, I was dead.”
“Jaan hai to jahan hai” – he stated
I was practically dead. A major cardiac arrest occurred. My life was saved by the physicians using electrical shock therapy and CPR.
A wake-up call would be putting it mildly. I have been given another opportunity at life. Jaan hai toh Jahaan hai. I have only given my career my whole attention for the last 28 years. We undervalue our families and ourselves. I believe we still have time, Talpade told the press.
Talpade was allegedly never admitted to the hospital before. But earlier, his cholesterol was elevated. Also, heart problems run in his family. He never smokes, drinks in moderation, and always eats a balanced diet.
“Suddenly, I felt breathless and my left hand started paining”
He revealed to the press that he suffered a heart attack while filming the next film, “Welcome To Jungle.” He was attacked while participating in a military drill. “All of a sudden, my left hand began to hurt and I lost my breath. I had trouble walking to the vanity van to change into new clothing,” he remarked.
“Since we were filming action scenes, I assumed it was a muscle pull.I never had this kind of fatigue”
He disclosed that while their car was stopped in traffic on the route to the hospital, he lost consciousness and his face turned numb.
