The Australian Open 2024 will commence on Sunday, January 14th, promising two weeks of electrifying tennis under the scorching Australian sun.    A total of 128 players are participating in the Australian Open women’s and men’s single competition and into eight groups of 16 players each. 112 players qualified for the tournament either on their world rankings or by wild-card invites. The remaining 16 players qualified for the event by competing in qualification matches conducted in the week preceding the Australian Open’s opening round.

When and where Australian Open 2024 is happening?

The Australian Open begins on Saturday, Jan. 13 at 6:00 p.m. ET in the United States with men’s and women’s singles first-round matches and concludes on Jan. 27 with women’s singles finals.

You can catch the matches live at Melbourne Park, where the vibrant atmosphere crackles with excitement. Or, settle in for a thrilling viewing at home.ESPN will be broadcasting all the action in the US, while Sony TEN telecasts in India.ESPN will have Day 1 coverage starting at 7 p.m. ET on Sat. Jan. 13 on ESPN+ and at midnight ET on ESPN2. The network promises 110 hours of coverage throughout the tournament . Melbourne is 16 hours ahead of the US Eastern Time. so Australian Open matches played in the morning will take place in the evening or early morning in the United States. So, tune in early for morning matches or settle in for late-night drama!
